The Centennial year will leverage Tel-Aviv-Yafo's standing in the overall international arena and among Jewish communities abroad. The city's image as a global metropolis will be further enhanced in 2009 through special Tel-Aviv events held in leading capitals worldwide. Tel-Aviv-Yafo will also host numerous cultural events and performances "imported" from its 24 sister cities. During 2009, world Jewry will increase its presence in the first Hebrew city through delegations and conferences, in addition to attending several large-scale events that are being planned in cooperation with the Jewish Agency and large Jewish organizations. Special tourism initiatives will ensure massive participation of tens of thousands of visitors in the Centenial events.
