Tribute to the 18th Maccabiah Games
Throughout the City
Tel Aviv-Yafo will be the hub of spirited sports activities in the summer of 2009.Some of the 18th Maccabiah events – known also as "The Jewish Olympics" - will take place in the city and attract about 10,000 athletes and other guests from across the globe to Israel.
The first Hebrew city, which hosted the original games at the acclaimed Maccabiah Stadium near the Yarkon River estuary, will pay tribute to this sports extravaganza by mounting an open-air exhibit of historic photos of the Maccabiah Games throughout the city's boulevards.
